Theory or idea behind:
- Soup is a method to get filter coffee flavor in espresso form.
- It uses a gentle soak and fast flow rate.
- DC from Espresso Aistic Discord developed the method.
- Full saturation of the puck is needed.
- Low pressure is key.
- Paper filter on the bottom aids flow.
- Deeper pucks are preferred.
- Grind coarser than turbo shots.(double the burr lock to turbo shot on your grinder)
Variations:
- Different machines (Robot, OXO Rapid Brewer, Flair 58, Pico Presso, AirPress).
- Ratios from 1:2 to 1:8.
Preparations:
- Bottom paper filter to improve the flow rate
- Top paper filter or mesh screen to evenness the flow through the puck.
- Preheating machine is optional.
